JEDDAH: Special events that allow astronomy enthusiasts to gaze at the stars and learn more about phases of the moon during Ramadan are being held at Jeddah鈥檚 Historic District, also known as Al-Balad.
On Sunday, locals and tourists looked through state-of-the-art telescopes, with guidance provided by astronomy experts, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Discussions at the event delved into the relationship between the lunar calendar and Ramadan.
The Ministry of Culture has organized these events to showcase the country鈥檚 heritage.
During Ramadan, the historic district has over 30 zones with restaurants, food stalls, traditional performances, workshops, markets, cultural exhibitions, and a dedicated section for children.
